Everett's Armoire

Do you ever slap paint on something & know that it's perfect?

Well - I completely got that feeling when the gray hit this cabinet.

I absolutely LOVE the end look. It's such an improvement from the old - dry wood looking armoire.

I used the existing knobs and spray painted them black.

I then really hit this baby with the sand paper - I aged it a lot & my favorite drawer is the one that is the roughest in the bunch!

Look at the feet on this baby - fabulous!

I rearranged furniture a bit & put this armoire against the big wall in his room instead of angled in the corner. Aubrie then gave her brother her brown wicker rocker for the corner after scoring a really girly chair for her room. I am really pleased with the look.

We have a nice place to sit now in his room - which was lacking before when we are doing bedtime (both kids sleep here so a seat was important!)

  4. C-R-A-Z-Y in love with the gray...isn't it funny how we could both have that in our houses and it would look totally different...yet fabulous at in both spaces! Me with my snow-whiteness going on all over the place and you with your color everywhere. It this what they meant by "gray area"...LOVE it. Seriously.

  13. I am loving gray at the moment too, I painted my living room Seashell gray from Lowes, and my son's room Stonington Gray from Benjamin moore. I am going to have to pick a piece of furniture to paint gray too, I am seeing a lot of furniture makeovers with this color and it looks so good!

  14. That gray armoire looks so good I'm starting to think we shouldn't have given away the oak roll-top desk. I should have painted it gray. Hope you'll have time to stop by and take our quick tour of the Architectural Digest Home Design show with furniture plus. -- Jane F.
