Ode To The Cow

The Cow
~Robert Louis Stevenson

The friendly cow, all red and white,
I love with all my heart:
She gives me cream with all her might,
To eat with apple tart.

She wanders lowing here and there,
And yet she cannot stray,
All in the pleasant open air,
The pleasant light of day;

And blown by all the winds that pass
And wet with all the showers,
She walks among the meadow grass
And eats the meadow flowers.

I'm glad I'm raising a tiny farmer & a tiny chef - he loves both farming & cattle as well as cooking.  I already pray for his future wife & I'm trying to shape him into a well trained young man b/c my man was a bit mom spoiled when he became mine :)

  1. Love this poem! Then my eye caught the heading above,"Trust your friends with everything but your hair!" Yes indeed I can relate to that one!

  2. Owen was SO spoiled by his mother...he did not even know how to put sheets on his bed. UGH!

  3. Oh my Owen Pye - oh my! I feel your pain Jillian! I've taught my spoiled husband so much in the past several years.

  4. annie.....i am so thankful for God's graces in raising my boys, ages 9 thru 21. i have made many mistakes, but with undaunting love and prayer they have been brought up to be great young men. i think their future wives will be happy in the way they will be husbands and fathers. i feel that it is our ultimate responsibility with them to do this. and i do the same thing about praying for their future wives. thankfully at their ages there are no future wives currently in the

btw....i loved the post on your church. it sounds wonderful. we are still searching for the right church since we moved to metamora a few years sad is that?

  5. Hey Annie! Thanks for the comment! I am going to Tokyo, Japan this december (the 5th - 18th) for a Mission Trip through Jesus Film Mission Trips. I am SO EXCITED! It has been my DREAM since I was a little girl... and God is using my passion for the culture to get some souls for heaven! Whoo hoo! haha. China sounds amazing as well!

Your son is precious and I LOVE the values you're instilling in him - the love of nature and farming and cooking! Besides art those are my 3 favorite things!

Thank you so much for your kind words & support! I love hearing from you & read each and every comment you leave for me! ~Annie
