My last night pregnant...

'Twas the night before Ollie,
and all through the town,
everybody was praying; everybody knelt down
to bless this sweet child
with good health and love
from all of her warriors and God up above.

Tomorrow at 9AM we check into Barnes-Jewish South in St. Louis.

I will labor while Jade stands by my side...as we silently pray for our baby girl.  We long to see her sweet face, stroke her tiny hands, and kiss her cheeks and forehead.  She will know how much she is loved by so many so soon.

Please pray for us tonight and tomorrow as we start the real journey with Ollie Faith.  Emotions will be high as we welcome our third child into our family, and as Aubrie and Everett meet their tiny sister.

"You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!"
Psalm 139:13-18

Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
1 Corinthians 13:7

Ollie is perfection in God's eyes.  He has a plan for her no matter how many chromosomes she has, and no matter what her heart looks like...she is a miracle...and a gift that Jade & I are blessed to love and parent together.

  12. Dear Lord hear our prayers. Hold sweet Ollie, Annie and Jade in your hands as you grace us with her beauty. Protect and give strength to Ollie and Annie as Ollie makes her arrival. Watch over and guide the doctors and nurses as they care for this amazing family. God you are good, in you we find strength and comfort. We pray that you have healed Ollie and proved that miracles really do happen. In your name we pray and know you are with them on this journey.

Annie, I will be praying for you tonight and tomorrow. I can't wait to "see" sweet Ollie. I am so excited for you and your family. Prayers and hugs!

  26. My six year old daughter did not have any heart defects, but she does have an extra chromosome. She is my 6th child and like Carol, our journey since her birth has been amazing. She is a very healthy girl, growing like a weed, and well loved by all.

My family has learned so much since her birth and the love we have for her, and she shares with us, is so powerful. While the love for a child is unmeasurable regardless of their genetic composition, the bond that I share with her is incomparable to anything I have ever experienced. There is just something truly magical about that extra chromosome, and I cannot imagine life without her.

There is a wonderful virtual Ds community waiting, should your baby girl happen to have an extra chromosome. I see a few of those people have already connected with you. I'm sure you will find that those connections will grow by leaps and bounds in the coming months, should your new baby girl just happen to have an extra chromosome.

I have met so many amazing people since the birth of my daughter, we have shared in our joys and triumphs, and supported one another during trials and tribulations. I am so thankful for this network, so thankful.

I am looking forward to your next post and news about your Ollie Faith. What an amazing name she has. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers today.

  36. Hello, I am Flower Patch Farmgirl's Mama, she told me about Ollie. Oh, how I am praying for the doctors, nurses, Mommy, Daddy, and her grandma and grandpas. God, our Yahweh, created her just perfect. And then planted her in the perfect family. Our God does not make mistakes, He makes promises. Ollie, I love her name.
