Weighing in...

Today Ollie's Nutritionist nurse came.

She comes to monitor Ollie's weight gain, length, general health, and her nutrition.  I love her.  So does Maggie.  She's wonderful, absolutely wonderful!

Today Ollie weighed in at 10 pounds 5 ounces & 22 inches.  I was slightly disappointed.  We had a surgery goal of 11 pounds and Ollie has only gained 4 ounces in 3 weeks.  However, this proves that it's surgery time because her heart is causing her to slow down in the weight department.

She thought Ollie was doing beautifully & it made me happy!  I highly value her opinion!

I feel really confidant today.  Things are good.  We are all packed, we are ready to go.  First thing in the morning we take off for St. Louis.

Ollie is starting the day with an EKG, chest x-ray, blood work and possibly an echo cardiogram (she had one in May).  Then in the afternoon we get to meet with the anesthesiologists, nurse practitioners, same day surgery, and hopefully, fingers crossed, Dr. Huddleston her surgeon.  They have several teams on her case & we get to meet them all!

Yes our day is packed, yes this girl has packed a super sized Snickers for Jade & I to share if need be!

Tomorrow afternoon we will get her surgery time.  I will update the blog tomorrow as I learn more.

Thank you for your prayers & support.  Yesterday was rough, but today is a new day & I feel good.  I am calm, I am strong, and I know that HE has her in his hands!  I thank HIM for her because every ounce of her is beautiful & brings me joy!

God bless!!

PS - I know you are praying for us all, but say an extra couple for Aubrie Grace.  She's been having a tough time with Jade & I leaving and especially Grandma Janie.  She's sad.  I think a DQ treat has perked her up, but she may have a rough morning tomorrow!

  3. We've been there with the siblings and we will especially keep them AND thier caregivers in our prayers. It was tough on our kids because we were close and so we would leave early each morning to go down and come home very late, when she was in the Heart NICU area. Once she was off the vent (at one week) then we took turns staying down there with her (since she wasn't nursing) and it was more of the same. We pray that her recovery is swift and that you are home all under one roof soon!

  6. Annie, my thoughts and prayers are with Ollie Faith and you, Jade and your family. Have a safe trip in the morning and give Ollie our hugs and love. Ollie's in our Father's care...always. It's hard on little ones when their parents leave to go somewhere without them. My kids were the same way. I'm sure Grandma and Grampa will keep Aubrie entertained and visa versa..

    Blessings,
    ~Lynn

  9. I will be praying for ms. Ollie! We love you guys, and are so close--so let me know if you need anything while you are at the hospital. And I am SO serious about that. Owen and I live in Benton Park now so I can be there in 5 minutes if I speed like a mad woman! You can get my number from Maggie!
