Packing...

Today I am packing my entire family.

The bigs for their stay with my amazingly gracious cousin, Ellen until Maggie & Kylie return home.

Ollie for her stay with us up to surgery & then whatever clothes she can possibly wear as she recovers.

Jade & I for an undetermined amount of days as we sit by her side.  We have packed a lot...hoping laundry isn't a need.

I won't lie.  Today is hard.  I am struggling.  I am so anxious for Wednesday to meet her surgeon & hear his words & get a surgery time.  I am so anxious for Friday so this is in the past.  I feel unsettled.  I think this is the most scared I have ever been in my life.  I get hit with waves of calmness & strength, then knocked down by fear.  I am praying a lot.  I am glad we have no plans & I just get to sit with my kids & enjoy them the next two days.

She's sleeping now so I should finish this blog so when she's awake I can just sit and hold her.  So enjoy some pictures I took of her sweet chest before she gets her battle scar.

She's such a joy - I just love her so very much.

  6. Annie, you have a lot of people praying for all of you and especially Miss O. Scary is an inadequate word to describe such surgery on such a tiny being, but her doctors sound like they are the best in their field. I'll be thinking about you all week. Ann {{Ollie}}

  7. You look BIG and STRONG little girl! We will be praying and hope the you do great and you recover fast!

    Pack those baby leggings, but to be honest, they keep the rooms pretty warm, so them babies aren't really cold. I did find that a sun dress that snaps/buttons at the shoulders were nice. That way I could get it on and off without asking them to do a lot of moving of her iv's cause I liked a dressed baby and not a naked one:) I also packed a lot of her blankets. I slept with them and held them a lot and then would leave tucked in by her so that she could smell me...they can get "dirty" fast, especially in the beginning, so we had to swap them out a lot and I didn't take her special or nice ones.

  10. Prayers are with you and your family! The photos are precious, looks as though Miss Ollie is being a little cheerleader for her mommy to show us! Just remember, battle scars will make her stronger! God blessed you and Jade with this precious girl, stay strong!

  11. My son had his OHS in November of last year. You can barely see the scar now, not that I really care if it disappears. It (and his funky heart) are part of him. I remember taking the 'before' photos and the waves of panic and calm, panic and calm. It's a lot easier to see this from my seat, but it will go so quickly, she'll heal so fast and soon it will feel like a dream. Ok, hospital time is long, but once you get home, where the real healing begins, it will seem quick. The scars will heal up so well you'll forget they're there.
    I'll be keeping you and your family in my thoughts this week.

  13. While Ollies battle scar will be visible, I know that as a Mom, you will have one too, but it will be unseen. You are all on my mind and in my heart and prayers so often.....

    This prayer...St. Theresa's Bookmark...is one that I've recited in my head 1,000's of times:

    Let nothing disturb you;
    Let nothing frighten you.
    All things are passing.
    God never changes.
    Patience endurance obtains all things.
    Nothing is wanting to him who possesses God. God alone suffices.

    Big Hugs....

  14. Oh I have tears in my eyes because she is such a joy to look at and I don't want to think of her in pain in a few days but then I am filled with a calm assurance that her heart will be healed realy soon and that God is with you all! (sorry- that was a horrible run-on sentence) How is it that we've never met, but I have this connection with you guys, and therefore have thought of you and Ollie a lot today. I am bringing her prayer card to work tomorrow and asking my friends to pray for Sweet Ollie, and pray for you all, too.

    Hugs,
    Pam

  16. She is such a little beauty. May her surgery be a pure success and may God be with her and with you during this time. It is a time of fear, but I hope that the prayers of all these others will help ease your fears and that you will know that she is in God's oh-so-competent hands. So many thoughts for you all.

  19. That last picture reminds me so much of our last few days prior to the surgery. She will do great! I know it. Tell her she has to hurry up and get better, V and I cant wait to play!
    Oh yeh, I never mentioned that all of the leg warmers and hats that I packed were no necessary. V was naked and her back was sweaty the whole time! Just in case you were wondering on what to pack for Miss O. We didnt actually cloth her until she was almost ready to leave. :)
