he obviously built me some very poor milk ducts!
Ha you didn't "girl" talk coming did you?
I didn't think so!
You see I ALWAYS get a blocked milk duct when I nurse & let me tell you it makes a large knot and hurts like a mother. True story. The block is the size of a grain of sand & causes pain like a cow kicked you in the boob no joke.
Well this time - typical fashion it happened. But no no no...the only week we had zero doctor appointments. I developed one super sore boob. Then, a fever. Then, a fever of 102.5. A fever that high with 3 kids is unpleasant to say the least. I ached so bad the bones in my toes hurt to walk, and I swear I could feel my liver aching.
Yes...I am that ridiculous!
So I went to my OB Monday & guess what...no blocked duct. This time my boob reared it's ugly head with mastitis.
Awfulness...I think yes. Antibiotics 4x daily...praise the lord.
I am better! Just in time for our HUGE Ethel Edith spring show THIS Saturday!!!
So this week I had one doctor appointment...more next week...and the next...and the next. Be jealous - I read a lot of magazines!
Ughh.. and Owhhh! Glad your recovering! I had Mast. too, on both sides. What a pain. Ha!
ReplyDeleteI know it's not funny, but I laughed out loud at your boob issues.
ReplyDeletegirlie- i had mastitis with Leland and i thought i was dying. the highest fever i've EVER had and i was delirious! i am SO GLAD you are feeling better :O)
ReplyDeleteI had my girls 18 and 21 years ago and I can STILL remember that pain! No fun for sure! Hope you get it whipped and it doesn't come back!
ReplyDeleteOwwww! I had mastitis once, and the fever came on SO fast! I've never had a fever like that before or since, and I was alone with the baby. Had to call my mother to come from work to get my prescription and give me a Tylenol from my own kitchen (I couldn't get up!) so I could function again. At least within 2 hours I was feeling back to normal, amazingly. Hope you're feeling better now!
ReplyDeleteso sorry for the pain... but i loved the cow kicked you in the boob crack. haha laughed out loud. and i know how those weeks without drs appts are precious, so here is hoping you get another soon!
ReplyDeleteOh no! Make sure you are taking probiotics (acidophilous) also to keep the good bacteria in. The last thing you need is thrush:(
ReplyDeleteFeel better!
