A sweet sweet girl sent me an e-mail today. In all honesty I am amzed in the supportive e-mails I am getting today - so so many sweet emails - God is good! On her blog I found a recent post with great inspiration. Thank you Lauren - I hope you don't mind that I'm sharing some of the verses that helped me.
"The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped.
My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song." Psalm 28:7
"Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy." Psalm 126:5
Nehemiah said, "Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength."
Nehemiah 8:10
"You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!"
Psalm 139:13-18
Friends & family, Jade & I are doing very well because of all your prayers for strength. We are beyond excited for baby Ollie to be a part of our lives, and a part of our family & friends' lives. Do not grieve for us because this baby IS a blessing Down Syndrome or not. We are still celebrating the miracle that is our child in any form he or she arrives in. Ollie is our child, and Ollie is absolutely perfect in God's eyes.
We are finding research that is bringing us much hope, and we are confidant that God will get us through this because he only gives us what we can handle. Keep the prayers coming for our entire family, Ollie's heart, & any doctors/nurses we may one day meet. Also, for my sake please squash any rumors that Ollie may not survive until birth. Ollie is strong and kicking all the time, and no Dr. has ever said this should be a concern to us. We believe the heart defect is operable, or may heal on its own. We don't know much about Ollie's heart, but we will know more on the 26th.
God Bless!
Also - check out this link. God Bless these people - you brought tears to my eyes today when I realized what was happening. Your prayers ARE working & I am thankful for you all even though I may never know who you are.
Annie, I must have clicked on here just after you posted. How wonderful that so many people are thinking and praying for Ollie and the whole family. Ollie indeed is a blessing already in his/her special nesting place and will be all the more of one on the day of his/her arrival. Ollie, the world that waits and hopes for you is a wonderful place! Keep your momma and daddy strong. Ann
ReplyDeleteNot only is the baby a blessing to you, your family is a blessing to that wonderful baby. You are courageous and strong. God will never give you more than you can handle.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is such a neat thing! We prayed for you last night at Bible study, and will continue to pray, mama.

Annie, you are so blessed to be the mother of these 3 beautiful kids, and I'm sure Ollie be just fine! I am the mom of a 26 year old that was born with heart disease and grandma to an 18 month old also born with heart disease (genetic) and the research has come soooo far in the past 25 years it is amazing. I'm very excited for your family and I will continue to keep yall in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to let you know that Kolby and I are praying for complete healing for Ollie's heart. Ever since Maggie told us the news I knew that this would change your entire family, but in a good way. God works in wonderful and mysterious ways and you are exactly right when you say He doesn't give us more then we can handle.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad we could do something to touch you, Annie. I'm still in awe of your strength and I will be following this sweet baby's journey into the world. <3

I am so blessed by your confidence - you will be richly rewarded for your faith. <3
Much love, and stay in touch!

Isn't it wonderful to realize, before we are born God KNOWS US! He knows Ollie and chose your hearts to hold this baby. I am Nella's Poppa...you have visited my daughter Kelle's blog. Please know you are in my prayers. Fear not tomorrow, for God is already there. You and Jade and your precious family are in my heart.
