Dinner Time Woes

OK I'm going to throw this right out there.  I'm a pretty darn good cook.

I learned to cook farm style from my Mom which also means gravy style.  It's rich and not low fat & mainly uses beef.  Now I bragged myself up a tad, but I'll admit I don't love to cook & try to get out of it if I can.  However, that means Jade goes toward cereal so I end up cooking.  I do put something on the table every night even if it's not the most amazing meal.  Fast & tasty is the goal!  Jade is always thrilled when I really bring out the goods, because let's face it with two kids, a 40 hour a week job, house chores, and a pregnant lazy body - one can't make mashed potatoes, roast, noodles, rolls, and the necessary veggies every night.  If you can you are one heck of a lady.

So the other night I made chicken stir fry.  It's always fantastic & fast & provides everything you need - meat, lots of veggies, and a carb.  Plus, I love rice and use it all the time.

My son used to eat everything & thought I was amazing in the kitchen.  This night he sat down and I kid you not said "This is disgusting.  P. U."  Seriously?!?  Where has he heard this?  Who says PU anymore?  I blame Sponge Bob & firmly believe Sponge Bob is rude.

  1. I can't stand Sponge Bob, I think the show is so annoying, yet my husband loves it. He will sit and watch it and laugh while I cringe and leave the room. :-)

  2. we don't watch Sponge Bob either.
It's a stage though. Leland is only allowed to say 'i don't care for....' and if he wants desert he has to at least try it before eating something else.
i'm sure you are a great cook and last night was no exception :O)
